Blues dancing is a wide and varied family of dances done to an equally wide and varied genre of music by the same name. In this series we'll be focusing on the Jukin’ side of the family, often done to Juke Joint music such as Delta Blues and Chicago Blues Music.
Starting with Step-Touches, and moving through other dance styles such as Four-Corners, The Mooche, and Struttin’, we'll build a foundation to explore key elements of Black American Social Dances such as Groove, Asymmetry, Call and Response, and Polyrhythms. Concepts you can continue exploring and incorporating into your Lindy Hop!
PRE-REQUISITES: No previous dance experience necessary and no partner required. We will layer complexity over our foundations, building skills to dance with anyone at any level while stretching the edges of our own creativity.
